Carol Miles, MSW, LCSW, is a seasoned Clinical Social Worker renowned for her expertise in EMDR therapy and dedication to advancing mental health care. Specializing in EMDR intensives for adults, she conducts EMDR Intensive sessions both in-person in Covington, Louisiana, and virtually.
 
With over 30 years of comprehensive experience across clinical, administrative, and marketing domains in both public and private sectors, Carol's impact spans far and wide. A graduate of the LSU School of Social Work, she brings a wealth of knowledge in addressing various mental health challenges, notably eating disorders and trauma.
 
An esteemed educator and mentor, Carol serves as a beacon for therapists seeking to enhance their skills in EMDR therapy through her Three Rivers Training Center. Under her guidance, the center includes five EMDRIA Approved Basic Trainers, offering comprehensive trainings internationally and nationally, catering to diverse needs including working with children and Spanish-speaking communities.
 
Carol's commitment to the advancement of EMDR therapy is evident through her extensive involvement with EMDRIA, where she holds certifications as a Therapist, Consultant, and Basic and Advanced Trainer. Her leadership roles within EMDRIA, including a term as President, reflect her dedication to shaping the future of the field.
 
A sought-after speaker at national and international conferences, Carol shares her expertise on various topics including Eating Disorders, Assertiveness, EMDR Therapy, Ethics, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills. Her contributions to EMDRIA have been recognized with the prestigious Outstanding Contribution Award in 2023. She was an invited speaker at the 2024 EMDRIA Summit, addressing Sustainability Post Basic Training for Trainers and EMDR and Ethics.
 
In addition to her professional endeavors, Carol's passion for education led her to serve as an adjunct professor at the Tulane School of Social Work for two decades, nurturing future generations of mental health professionals. As a retiring co-chair of the South Louisiana EMDR Network and a former member of the EMDRIA Board of Directors, Carol's legacy continues to inspire and shape the landscape of mental health care.

EMDR LEADER

As past Board President of EMDRIA (2019-2020, serving a 2 year term) and the co-founder of the EMDR Regional Meetings in Southeast Louisiana, Carol has brought a higher level of expertise to the region’s ability to effectively address trauma through networking and presentations. 

 

Her Three Rivers Training Center also brings nationally known EMDR Advanced Trainers to Louisiana to present on the intense work associated with addressing anger, dissociation, attachment issues, and other mental health concerns. These trainers help to develop the skills of the therapists in our community and throughout this this region. As an EMDRIA Approved Basic Trainer, Carol works with LSU School of Public Health Center for Evidence to Practice to teach therapists about this exciting, efficient, and effective type of psychotherapy.
