Experience EMDR Intensive Therapy tailored to mental health professionals to address burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma.
Carol Miles, MSW, LCSW, EMDR Certified Trainer is offering an extraordinary opportunity to experience the ground-breaking benefits of EMDR Intensive Therapy in a tranquil setting in New Orleans, Louisiana. This 4-day retreat includes 6 EMDR intensive individual hours, 3 EMDR group hours, opportunity for 3 CEs for therapists, resources, assessments, and a customized treatment workbook. The intensive retreat is ideal for resolving distressing events or deeply ingrained beliefs and feelings, managing compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma, and just taking a moment to pause. It provides ample time for grounding exercises, reprocessing past trauma, and future resourcing.
Have you wondered what your life would be like if you were free from barriers, fears, insecurities, and struggles? What would it look like to feel empowered to take care of yourself, stand up for your needs, and communicate openly? What if you could reduce feelings of anxiety, depression, regret, and shame? What’s at stake if you don’t take the time now for your mental and emotional well-being?
This EMDR Intensive Retreat has been designed specifically for mental health professionals. EMDR Intensives are a groundbreaking advancement in psychotherapy that offer the opportunity for a time-intensive, deep dive with the support needed to fully resolve specific issues or deeply heal more complex challenges. EMDR Intensives offer a faster, deeper, and more cost-effective approach to healing from difficult life experiences, overcoming fears about the future, or enhancing performance. Imagine achieving months or even years worth of therapy in just a few days and opening up space to lead the most fulfilling and meaningful life possible.
Do you struggle to take care of yourself?
Do you struggle with the stories you heard in sessions?
Do you find yourself thinking about past traumas?
Have you wanted some time for yourself ? And maybe just let go of the stuck painful places?
Are you experiencing strain in your relationships or noticing recurring patterns of responses that bring you distress?
Do certain triggers for anxiety or depression seem to arise without a clear cause?
Have you felt your body reacting in a fight, flight, freeze, or fawn response?
Do you notice physical sensations like a pit in the stomach, tightness in the chest, a lump in the throat, a clenched jaw, or neck tension?
If this list resonated with you as a helping professional, you are not alone. Compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma are very real risks for those of us who have dedicated our careers to helping others work through their own traumas. If you are a healer seeking healing, come to rest, grow, and revitalize in a beautiful New Orleans home with great food and great companions.
Time is of the essence.
You want relief sooner rather than later and if you’re a busy person, weekly appointments might not be feasible.
You’re ready to process deeply.
Longer Intensives offer the space and support to move through deeply held traumas. This is especially beneficial for addressing difficult early life experiences and complex trauma, including those from before your explicit memory.
You want a cost-effective solution.
Intensives can be more economical overall, as they save the time usually spent on check-ins and closures in weekly sessions. You stay in the processing space longer, without weekly disruptions from life events.
You’re considering adjunct EMDR.
If you’re already working with another therapist but feel stuck, we can collaborate with them to focus on a specific piece of work. This can help you overcome blocks and return to making progress.
You need a break to focus on yourself.
As rewarding as our jobs can be, it’s easy to put our own needs on the back burner and fall into a caretaker role even outside of work. A break from work, personal responsibilities, and daily stressors can feel like a reset that many of us so desperately need.
